Description
Experienced bassist wanted for 5 piece band: Female vocalist, sax, drums, and keyboard/synth. We have some decent harmony vocals, too. We're older and experienced playing at the pro level... We're in it for spreading the message of "unity in the community, " and also the fun, a bit of local travel and some notoriety and decent musician's pay. We're hoping to find someone with professional work ethic, patience, and a good team attitude.
We need someone familiar with the Real Book series type of Blues, Standards, some R&B, Pop, and light jazz... jazz rock. We play Ella, Sinatra, Gerry Raferty's Baker Street, Etta James, Glad,.... everything from early 1920's blues to some originals, to Beatles, to more psychedelic fun stuff like White Bird... a real fun mix of great songs you don't hear every day 'cause they're a bit more artistic that 3 chord bangers. We have about 15 gigs booked for 2022 already and are possibly up for a grant and some other music business opportunities. We play at festivals, upscale restaurants, and theater venues, and special events. It would be great if you read music or at least charts, but that's not necessary if you have a system for picking up new tunes fairly quickly.... say 2 or 3 per week.
We typically practice one night/week and summers and fall, we gig about 3 times/month... but sometimes a bit more. Your own transportation and equipment required, but we have a decent rehearsal space in Lewisburg and we have a bass amp here. If interested, write back with a brief bio of your interests and phone # and a good time for us to call you back. Cheers!
