One of my biggest passions in life is playing music, and I would be thrilled to share what I’ve learned and get you started on acoustic guitar or bass guitar! As a bassist, I have 10 years of professional experience in both studio and live performance settings. My focus has always been on developing versatility in a variety of styles and learning the fundamental approaches of each. I’m well equipped to take you from no knowledge or experience to playing the funky, driving, bluesy or progressive grooves you’ve been hoping to hear from your four or five string companion. As a guitarist, I’ve been exploring the art of couch and campfire playing for nearly fifteen years. I can guide you through the in’s and out’s of chord shapes, playing with or without a pick, fingerstyle patterns and more. If you’re looking to get down the fundamentals of guitar and develop the basic tools to play nearly any song you could hope to bust out on an open mic stage or in the living room with your friends, I’d love to help make that happen for you! The years I have put into music have been primarily focused on consistently honing the ability to play by ear. I can show you the basics of reading sheet music, but my emphasis is on taking in the tones you hear around you and finding harmony with them through your own playing. This can mean anything from turning on the radio and playing along to whatever you’re hearing, to sitting down with another musician and creating something entirely in the moment together without a plan. It’s a language all in itself, and one that I’m very passionate about. It may even change the way you listen.
