Description
Our client is seeking a laborer to join their team servicing the Metropolitan Water District - Julian Hinds Pumping Plant. You will be responsible for partnering with other staff members to prepare vacant houses for occupancy by performing needed housing repairs, for example, painting (drywall repair), electrical work (replacing/repairing lighting fixtures and ceiling fans), doors, and hardware, and cabinets, etc.

Schedule:
• Thursday thru Sunday 4/10 work schedule (OR) Thursday thru Monday (5 days, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week)
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the corrective maintenance activities of vacant Metropolitan residential housing.
• General repairs of heating and air conditioning, lighting, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, roofing patchwork, painting, and general cleanup.
• Provide assistance on various sites across the region.
• Assist in various general labor on project sites.
• Drive MWD pick-up trucks onsite as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge of: Troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair, related to carpentry, electrical and
mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and locksmithing; building and residential safety codes
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to handle physical workload (lift 50 lbs or more and be able to work in various weather conditions on the job site including heat)
• Must be punctual (on time) and be able to communicate with superintendents and foremen
• Strong work ethic

Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing
and registrations:
• Forklift Certification
• Manlift Certification
• Respirator Certification
