Description
Hello,
I'm a local sole proprietor in the construction industry. I haven't advertised on Craigslist for a couple years now because fortunately, I had work lined up. That ended abruptly in January and it has been a struggle ever since. I haven't been able to get any work whatsoever. I edit my Craigslist add every other day, move location, edit the text, and nothing seems to be working. I have gotten maybe two inquiries that never made it past the introduction. I'm advertising on Instagram as well, pretty consistently, and there hasn't been any activity there either. I don't know who will be reading this, as I've never posted here in the past.
The Nextdoor app seems, frankly, to be filled with a negative vibe. So I hesitate to advertise there. I understand Yelp is simply something you pay to get into, and that can be said of Angie's list, and the BBB as well. I'm wondering if Houz and other lead generator businesses have sucked up all the work? I'm not a big shot so I can't really afford a monthly fee to (maybe) get work. I'm really not trying to be negative toward any entity, I understand those businesses have that model. I know Craigslist isn't quite what it used to be, but I'm wondering if anyone has had a good experience here that helped them either financially or otherwise? It feels like I'm out of options in a world filled with options.
If you have had a hard time on here as well and you're genuinely trying to get work, please let me know too, then we could get some sort of common ground at the very least.
Like I said, I don't even know how I would find this post in Craigslist because it is kind of random. I don't know if it's in the right section even.
