Private family looking for an excellent live-in housekeeper Hours: 40-45 hour week during the off season and flexibility with hours, days could vary according to family weekend visits. Hours become varied over the summer: weekend work & 2 days off in the week Salary: $35-40 per week Start Date: Late May/Early June The House: 12,000 sq ft, 8 beds, 12 full baths, 4 half baths Accommodation: Self contained spacious and light basement apartment with windows, bedroom, and bathroom The Staff: Weekly cleaning company, plus help from the family’s NJ housekeeper in season Brief overview of responsibilities: -Deep cleaning the home: vacuuming, mopping, dusting and wiping surfaces, cleaning bathrooms, wiping windows, etc. -Tidying all indoor rooms and outdoor spaces, including entryway, stairs, patio, etc. -Undertaking regular walk throughs to ensure everything is in good working order (running taps / flushing toilets / checking heating etc.) -Scheduling and overseeing necessary maintenance and work in the off season (family visits throughout the year, not living there permanently) -Overseeing maintenance/ vendor appointments, especially pool maintenance -Managing supplies, using only Eco-friendly products -General cooking assistance as needed—particularly at dinnertime—with specific attention to individual food allergies -Clearing the table and cleaning up after each meal -Placing online grocery orders, and supplementing these orders with visits to the butcher, fishmonger, and other specialty food stores as needed -Greeting guests/ answering the phone etc. -Looking after the family pets as needed, i.e. walking the dogs Candidates MUST: -Carry valid driver’s license and happy to drive as part of the role where necessary -Have knowledge of basic cooking with attention to food allergies (nuts) -Not be allergic to dogs -Have strong command of English language with good communication skills, both written and verbal -Supply excellent references required from both current and previous employers -Be vaccinated or happy to be vaccinated against Covid-19 Expected start date: May or beginning of June Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Live-In Pay: $35-$40 per hour Job Type: Full-time Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
