DENVER, CO — The Regional Transportation District is hosting a townhall Tuesday to gather feedback on possible service reduction. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. with RTD General Manager and CEO Dave Genova. RTD officials have also launched an online survey.
"You may have heard, RTD has a shortage of bus and rail operators and it's impacting our ability to provide our riders with the reliable service they deserve," RTD said in an email notice to riders. "It's also requiring many of our operators to work six-day work weeks. This affects everyone, from the people we serve to the people who provide the service."
RTD officials are considering a temporary service reduction in response to the ongoing labor shortage. The district also faces issues with recruiting and retaining bus and light rail operators.
