Our family is looking for a very small dog or pup, we have some birds so our vet recommended only small breeds without prey drive, preferably a puppy, but willing to meet older dogs too. Our family has 3 laid back kids who are very respectful of animals, ages 17, 15, and 11. My kids are hoping to train and socialize our new dog to eventually visit local nursing homes and other social/emotional support work Specific breed is unimportant to us as long as the size and personality is right We have been searching humane societies and rescues as well without much luck
