DENVER, CO — Denver police are asking for the public's help in solving a homicide after a body was found buried in a backyard, officials said. Kimberly Cottle, 45, was arrested Thursday in connection with the case. She was found in Reno, Nevada, and taken into custody, police said. Cottle faces several charges, including first-degree murder, tampering with a deceased body, identity theft and aggravated motor vehicle theft. The Denver Police Department received a missing person report Nov. 12 after 42-year-old Eusivio Luevano, Cottle's boyfriend, hadn't been seen for several months, investigators said. Luevano was last seen at his home in the 4700 block of North Fillmore Street, according to the department. With assistance from the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner and Denver Police Crime Laboratory personnel, investigators found Luevano's remains buried in the backyard of the home on Dec. 5, police said. "Preliminary evidence indicated that Mr. Luevano died from a gunshot wound," Denver police said in a news release. Cottle's booking photo and arrest affidavit have not been released due to the ongoing investigation, police said. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
