Housekeeping – Room Attendant The Market Pavilion Hotel, located in Charleston South Carolina is seeking Housekeepers to join our team. A knowledge of hotel housekeeping is required as documented through successful experience as a previous Housekeeper from a previous employer. The recipient of this position will have a passion for guest satisfaction, with a willingness to go above and beyond to serve the needs of our guests. JOB DESCRIPTION: Clean guestrooms with high attention to detail to the hotel’s cleaning standards which include: Dusting, Vacuuming, making beds, cleaning bathrooms and showers, Sanitizing of Surfaces. Clean hotel common areas to include: lobby restrooms, dining rooms and public areas. Remove trash, dirty linens and room service items Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms Complete Deep cleaning assignments assigned by management Must have the ability to communicate well with Management, Maintenance staff, Guest Services Representatives and other hotel staff members. Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests. Must have a courteous personality with the ability to respond to guest requests in a friendly and service oriented manner. Must be an individual who is a team player that is willing to support fellow coworkers to ensure that a quality job is completed on time. Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and name tag. 2 years of housekeeping is required SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including complete weekend and holiday availability. Ideal candidates will have good schedule availability with the willingness to work: *Full time *8-10 hours shifts *36 - 40 hours per week with as occasional overtime. *Candidates must have the ability to work weekends. *Morning shifts 8am-4pm and Afternoon *Evening housekeeping turndown shifts from 1pm-9pm. PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: To receive consideration for this position the Housekeeping staff member must be able to perform the following essential physical job functions daily: Must have the physical ability to stand and or walk continuously. Must have the physical ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, and kneel frequently. Must have the physical ability to frequently crouch, push, pull, squat and work above the shoulders during the performance of the daily job routine. Must have the physical ability to use both hands for continuous grasping with both hands. Must have the physical ability to continuously carry up to 30-40 pounds of weight both on flat surfaces as well as up and down stairs for distances of up to 100 feet. Must have the physical ability to occasionally carry between 30-40 pounds of weight both on flat surfaces as well as up and down stairs for distances up to 100 feet. Must have the physical ability to occasionally lift up to 30-40 pounds of weight between the floor and waist, occasionally from the waist to above the shoulder. This weight will be comprised, but not limited to the following items: furniture, folding tables, trash bags, bulk food, cleaning and paper supplies, cases of bottled water, etc. Must have the physical ability to occasionally push and pull various items such as bulk food, paper and cleaning supplies, cases of bottled water, trash bags and containers, furniture and folding tables weighing up to 50 pounds distances up to 150 feet. Must have the physical ability to work at heights and on uneven surfaces frequently. Must have the physical ability to tolerate any required protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses and other protective equipment deemed appropriate on a continuous basis. PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING PROCESS: Pre-employment drug testing is a definite reality in our company, and is a mandatory requirement for all eligible candidates. Contingent upon the candidate's ability to advance beyond the interviewing and background screening process, eligible employees will then be instructed to report to our company's designated drug testing facility in person. An eligible candidate who successfully passes the drug screening test at our approved testing facility will then be provided a Passing Certificate of Documentation. This Passing Certificate of Documentation on record will be required before the candidate is potentially offered a final position within our company.
