Westport Pride and Aitoro Appliance invite you to join us for the first annual Queer Cookoff culinary competition.
Cheer on Fairfield County's LGBTQ+ community as they team up with local Connecticut chefs for the title of Culinary Champion. The competition is made up of three teams. Each team is led by a chef and four team members. Each team will be assigned to one of Aitoro's live kitchens to prepare two dishes: an appetizer and one entree during an one hour competition. One secret ingredient will be presented at the beginning of the competition and must be used in the dishes. After the hour is up, each team will present their dishes to a panel of judges who will taste and score each dish, based on specific criteria. During the competition, guests will enjoy hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer & non-alcoholic beverages while they cheer on the teams.
Chef Team Leaders are:
Chef Jonathan Mathias, Chef/Owner of A Dash of Salt Catering
Chef Jes Bengtson, Executive Chef, Terrain Cafe & Amis Trattoria
Chef Arik Bensimon, Private Chef & former Executive Chef at Le Farm & Napa Stamford
Judges:
Tony Aitoro, CEO Aitoro Appliance
Brian McGunagle, Founder Westport Pride
Dan Woog, Founder/Editor-In-Chief 06880
Matt Storch, Chef/Owner Match Restaurant and Match Burger Lobster
