Get your giggle on during this Laughter Yoga with the Alpacas class. It's fun, it's silly, it's good for you.
Montrose Farms is teaming up with Amy Imboden, certified yoga instructor, to host Laughter Yoga with the Alpacas on June 11.
Laughter increases the levels of endorphins – the body’s natural painkillers – and decreases the body’s production of cortisol, a hormone released in times of stress that contributes to weight gain and memory loss.
Laughter Yoga, designed by the Indian doctor Madan Kataria in 1995, incorporates playful group exercises with deep breathing to enhance wellness and joy. It eases anxiety and depression, awakens happiness and forges relationships.
A Laughter Yoga class can help students release stress and tension, calm their minds, improve their health and provide an abundance of positive energy.
The one-hour class, which involves minimal stretching and much laughter, will take place in a pasture with alpacas. People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate.
Please bring a mat, rug or heavy towel to sit on. Sunscreen is recommended.
Time will be allotted for photos and interaction with the alpacas.
Note: there are dogs on the property.
Note: there is no public bathroom facility on the property.
