Looking to rehome a healthy, independent adult cat

Description

Meet Hopper. He's 12, enjoys outdoor living, and would make a great companion for someone who's looking for a low-maintenance, self-sufficient cat who's also a good rat/mouser. We've had him since he was 8 weeks old, and we need to find a new home for him as we are moving overseas this year. Given his age, most local shelters won't take him. Here are some details about Hopper: - Just had a full checkup and is up to date on all shots and flea meds. - Pleasingly plump, always has been, despite being on a fairly restricted diet of grain-free kibble. We've stopped trying to slim him down at this point. He's big boned, what can you do? - Much prefers being outdoors, but currently is indoor/outdoor. He snoozes on a dining room chair most of the day, and hangs out on our front porch at night. - He's an independent guy. He won't snuggle on your lap right away, but he'll come rub your legs and trail you around when it's mealtime. He's a great cat for someone who wants a pet that is independent/self-sufficient but around when you want him to be. He also likes hanging out and snoozing at the foot of our bed at night. - His ideal scenario would be a house with a large yard -- a farm situation would probably be a dream come true. - He has killed a few mice and rats over the years - and what's nice about it is that he'll leave them perfectly intact in the yard. No gory dismemberment to clean up. From what I understand, this is a rare trait in a cat. If you're interested, please email me and we'll talk. Thanks for considering Hopper! I am keen to find him a soft landing!
