PISCATAWAY, NJ — A man who police think was in the roadway tending to a dead deer was himself hit and killed by a car Friday morning in Piscataway.
The tragic incident happened at 6:52 a.m. Friday on Stelton Road near Charles Terrace, according to Piscataway Acting Police Chief Thomas Mosier.
The 61-year-old man was in the road possibly tending to a deer that had earlier been struck and killed, said the police chief.
He himself was then struck by a northbound 2002 Mercedes Benz driven by a 68-year-old man, a Piscataway resident.
EMTs tried to give first aid, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, said Chief Mosier.
Officials did not released the identity of the man who was killed, and they do not know if he lives in Piscataway. No charges have been filed against the driver.
