PISCATAWAY, NJ — A 63-year-old Piscataway man died Saturday when a fire broke out at his home on Maple Avenue, according to Piscataway police.
The man has been identified as Rodger John Kennedy, said Chief Thomas Mosier of the Piscataway Township Police Department.
The fire broke out at around 1 p.m. Saturday and when firefighters got there, they found heavy smoke coming from the home's attic.
Firefighters pulled Kennedy out of the home and he was given CPR on the scene, but he later died at JFK Medical Center in Edison, confirmed Mosier.
The fire started in the home's kitchen.
