Assist the Crew Chief with collection of survey data to produce an accurate land survey in a timely manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Cutting with machete, bush axe, etc. and clearing brush from survey lines, loading & unloading equipment and supplies required for the survey, assist in determining elevations and laying out stakes, marks points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other marks, assists in measuring between points, places stakes at designated points and specified elevations, assists in operating all survey equipment including: Total Station, GPS, Data Collector. Position Requirements • HS Diploma or GED • Valid Driver’s License with good driving record Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in Surveying and/or Data Collection Knowledge/Skills/Abilities • Ability to follow directions, procedures and protocols with special attention to safety • Able to pay close attention to detail and communicate details with Party Chief • Apply knowledge both in the field and with electronics equipment • Measure accurately using tape measure and survey equipment • Able to regularly walk, stand, crouch or stoop; frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Up to 50 lbs. • Carry equipment up, down & across irregular terrain. • Able to perform job duties continually in an outdoor environment and in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures in summer and winter. • Able to perform job duties in various terrains, including construction sites, urban environments, woods, streams, creeks, water areas, and mountainous areas.
