Finding the way to a faithful future. Join us for a WCA Regional Gathering as we worship, discuss, explore options, and pray together. The New Day Conference will include worship, breakout sessions, lunch (a free will donation), a time of prayer, and two in person presentations from Rev. Angela Pleasants. Reverend Angela A. Pleasants serves as Vice President of Clergy Church Relations with the Wesleyan Covenant Association. Angela is a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, completing her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Marketing and a graduate of Duke Divinity School with a Master's in divinity. She is certified as a Spiritual Director through Anam Cara. Angela served twenty-two years as a pastor in United Methodist Churches across the Western North Carolina Conference. For four of the twenty-two years, she served as a District Superintendent of the Catawba Valley District. She also served on various conference committees, including the Board of Ordained Ministry, the United Methodist Foundation Board of Directors, cabinet representative to the General Council on Finance and Administration, and has served as delegate to General and Jurisdictional Conferences. Angela has served as chaplain to various police agencies in Gaston County, the United States Secret Service, and currently serves as Senior Chaplain with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. She teaches classes to law enforcement chaplains on the gift of presence and listening, ethics and confidentiality, suicide and law enforcement, and skill development in chaplaincy. Angela is trained in Crisis Intervention and serves as Crisis Response Director of Back the Blue North Carolina.
