Eastside Eight Storytelling Slam: Unlucky It's Friday the Thirteenth! Press pause on your Freddy Krueger marathon and join us! Eastside Eight- the storytelling slam proving the East Valley the hippest place in town carries on with our FRIDAY NIGHT TRADITION! Make sure you put on your storytelling shoes before you leave for work, and head straight over to Jarrod's on your way home. The good news is you can come hungry: they have all sorts of delicious treats available. PLEASE NOTE the new time! We'll start at 6:30! Never been to our storytelling slam? Let's tell you what it is! It's a live event featuring eight amateur storytellers. Each storyteller tells a true, personal story that relates to the theme in 6 minutes or less. The audience then votes* who will be crowned storytelling victor. Each month is a new line-up, but one thing is for sure: we've got the best storytellers in town. *The voting mechanism is a Google Form. People can vote as often as they want for whomever they want. Copious amounts of voter fraud. And we joyfully let it slide, because it's not really a competition.
