Description
MEDFORD, MA — A Medford police officer pulled a semi-conscious teen out of the Mystic River Monday night, said the department in a news release.
Officers responded to a report of a person in the water in the area of Ship Avenue around 9:39 p.m. Upon arrival to the scene, a Medford officer observed a person floating in the river and jumped into the water to pull that person to safety.
Other officers then assisted the officer who jumped in and helped bring the person to the river bank.
The person involved is described as a male in his late teens. Police say he was breathing, but in a semi-conscious state. He was transported to Mass General Hospital and his condition is unknown at this time.
The victim's family has been notified of the incident. Police are not releasing the identity of the teen.
