Press release from the Middlesex Community College: April 4, 2022 Dedicated to making college a possibility for all learners, Middlesex Community College meets each student where they are and guides them to success in ways that work best for them. Flexible and affordable options help get students on their paths to reach their goals faster. Registration for MCC's Fall 2022 semester is now open. "Now is the perfect time to start making Fall plans, and Middlesex has options that will work for a variety of student populations," said Scott O'Neil, MCC's Dean of Enrollment Services. "High school students looking to make their college application more competitive, soon-to-be high school graduates needing a bridge before attending a four-year institution, and adult learners hoping to jumpstart a new career will all benefit from the programs and resources that Middlesex has to offer." Starting at Middlesex is a more affordable option for many students, leading to them having to pay less in tuition overall. In addition to offering scholarship, grant and financial aid opportunities, the college's more than 80 degree and certificate program options are designed to prepare students to transfer to four-year institutions or enter the workforce. MCC's flexible course formats help keep students on track to complete their studies faster, including on-campus, online and hybrid course formats. Students choose which modality fits their needs and schedules when registering for classes. Accelerated eight-week Mini-mesters – offered twice in both the Fall and Spring semesters –allow students to focus on subjects in a shorter period of time, complete their general education requirements, and start classes later in the semester if needed. As many students work part- or full-time while attending school, these options help them balance their coursework with other responsibilities. Middlesex also understands the value of receiving hands-on, practical experiences in a program of study from early on in the college experience. Many programs offer students a chance to apply the knowledge they learn in their classes to real-world experiences, whether in a Learn and Earn, internship, Service-Learning, networking, lab or clinical opportunity. To show students more about what the college offers, Middlesex will host a trio of Open Houses in April. At each event, prospective students and their families will have an opportunity to meet with faculty and staff from throughout the college, ask questions about the variety of MCC's programs and offerings, and learn more about the Middlesex college community. Lowell Open House: 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 Bedford Open House: 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13 Virtual Open House: 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26 Please note that Middlesex requires all students to be vaccinated in order to come to campus, as of January 2022, including to attend the in-person Open Houses this April. The Fall 2022 semester starts on Tuesday, September 6.
