Let’s go where curiosity leads! Land Trust of North Alabama’s Nature Play Camp seeks to hone children’s innate curiosity in nature and allow them the freedom to explore. Topics for the week will include water critters, fossils, being nature detectives, map reading, animal adaptations, tracks, scat, the magic of trees, and more! Along with our exploration, we’ll include puzzles, crafts, games, and lots of splashing in Fagan Creek.
Cost: (Meals not provided)
$250 for Land Trust members at the Trailblazer Level ($50) or above only$300 for Non-members Not a Land Trust member? Join Today! Simply add a membership to your registration or join at landtrustnal.org/join.
Age Groups: Parents of 8 year olds can choose which group is best for their child but a child can only attend one week of camp. Activities will be adapted appropriately for each age group. The second week will include hiking longer distances.
Lead Educator and Camp Creator: Award winning educator and author Heather Montgomery has taught in and outside of the classroom for over 25 years. As the director of McDowell Environmental Center, she created curriculum for and coordinated a residential, outdoor, environmental education center for thousands of schoolchildren each year. Heather brings unparalleled enthusiasm, passion, and fun to outdoor education and inspires children to find curiosity in even the simplest elements of nature.
