Press release from the City of Spokane: 2022-04-04 Drive-by Shooting in North Central Spokane Sends Juvenile Male to Hospital with Life-threatening Injury On April 3, 2022 at approximately 2:00am, Spokane police officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of W Maxwell Ave in North Central Spokane. The 911 caller advised their friend had been shot in a drive-by. Responding officers located a juvenile male victim who told officers he had been lying on a couch in the living room when gunshots rang out from outside. Officers on scene immediately began life-saving measures on the male. Personnel from the Spokane Fire Department and AMR responded shortly thereafter and took over medical care. The juvenile male was transported to an area hospital where he is being treated for a life-threatening gunshot wound. SPD's Major Crimes Unit responded and is actively investigating this incident. At this time, the shooting does not seem random and may have been gang-related. Suspects have not been definitively identified or apprehended, but SPD does not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
