Lillis of Bib & Tucker Sew-Op leads us as we create a collaborative collage with cut fabric shapes
Lillis Taylor of Bib & Tucker Sew-Op will conduct a collaging workshop using fabric remnants and scraps otherwise destined for a landfill. Participants will be encouraged to cut shapes from fabric, and layer them to make abstract or pictorial collages. Then, Lillis and her fellow Sew-Op facilitators will machine sew the collages together and a beautiful quilt will appear before our eyes. Dexterity with scissors is required for this workshop, so it is most suitable for 3rd graders and older. All materials will be provided.
Bib & Tucker Sew-Op is a nonprofit organization with the mission to cultivate sewing skills and the vision to be a hub for sewing activities that promote empowerment, education, and economic opportunity. Sustainability is an important principle in their programming because they feel that true artistic genius is found in those who use what they have available to them to make their work.
