Preserving the Landmarks Significant to Tallahassee and the Civil Rights Movement: A Presentation by Delaitre Hollinger Want to know the truth about Truth Hall at FAMU? It was an important location for the Civil Rights Movement in Florida in the 1950s and 60s! Delaitre Hollinger, President of the National Association for the Preservation of African-American History & Culture, Inc. (NAPAAHC) discusses some of this important and crucial history at our April 14 meeting. The talk will be held at the Meek-Eaton Black Archives Research Center and Museum at FAMU, 445 Robert and Trudie Perkins Way, Tallahassee, FL 32307. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and program will begin at 7:00. About Delaitre Hollinger Delaitre Hollinger is the President and CEO of the National Association for the Preservation of African-American History and Culture, Inc. (NAPAAHC) He is a past president of the Tallahassee Branch NAACP and currently serves as an at-large member of the Executive Committee. Hollinger serves as Director and Exhibitions Curator for the Taylor House Museum of Historic Frenchtown and is the former Curator for the Wells’ Built Museum of African American History and Culture. In 2016, Hollinger was District Legislative Aide in the Florida Senate for Geraldine Thompson. In August 2018, he was inducted into the NAACP Civil Rights Hall of Fame during the organization’s 38th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet. Through his active involvement in civic affairs, Hollinger as President of the NAPAAHC, has been responsible for various historic preservation projects, the renaming of public facilities and the erection of public monuments and memorials.
