'Shots Fired' Incident Investigated: New London Police

NEW LONDON, CT — Police are investigating a "shots fired" incident in the area of Colman and Vauxhall streets at 4 p.m. Monday, police said. The New London Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting a disturbance with possible shots fired Monday afternoon. Once on scene, police located spent casings. The scene was secured and the area canvassed by officers, police said. Detectives also responded to process the scene and collect evidence. Two vehicles were reportedly observed fleeing the area at a high rate of speed, police said. Area hospitals were also contacted and notified, police said. The incident does not appear to be a random act, police said. The investigation remains active/ongoing.
