Lowland rocky balds lack trees and abound with wildflowers. Our speaker this month will discuss the flora and ecology of the thin-soiled balds around Bellingham, including some of our showiest wildflowers and rarest plants. He will also describe a citizen science monitoring program to better understand this rare habitat type. He is a Senior Instructor at WWU and an active member of the Koma Kulshan Chapter.
