CCM Gallery Presents Exhibit 'Beirut – Tallinn – New Orleans'

MORRISTOWN, NJ — County College of Morris' newest exhibition, "Beirut – Tallinn – New Orleans," is focused on war, peace and healing. The exhibition is part of the college's Legacy Project and features the works of artists Manal Abu-Shaheen and Terttu Uibopuu. According to a release from Morris County, the Legacy Project is intended to highlight issues that impact the lives of students, faculty, staff and community members in the county. The exhibition is set to run from Monday, Feb. 10, through March 10 at the Sherman H. Masten Learning resource Center on CCM's Randolph campus. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. About the Artists Abu-Shaheen was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and now lives in Queens, New York, where she teaches at The City College of New York. The release states her work focuses on "ways in which globalized communication bring idealized images from one culture in contact with the realities of another." She's now building her own photographic archive what Beirut looks like today. Uibopuu was born in Tallin, the capital of Estonia. She now lives in Brooklyn and teaches at the Borough of Manhattan Community College. Her work compares the cities of Tallinn and New Orleans and the hardships they've each survived, according to the release.
