Press release from Jackson County Prosecutor: April 1, 2022 A Kansas City man, 23, faces Murder 1st Degree charge in March 25 fatal shooting of Anthony Villareal in the northeast area of Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today. Gerald R. Robinson II, dob: 10/8/1998, faces Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.* According to court records, Kansas City police responded on March 25, 2022, to the area of 24th and Quincy. They fond the victim suffering from numerous gunshot wounds nearby. Surveillance video showed victim walking in the area of 24th and Denver when a maroon vehicle is shown on video chasing him until the suspect leaves the vehicle and chases victim, shooting him several times. Police identified the vehicle as registered to the defendant. A search of the vehicle revealed clothing in it that matched the clothing that the suspect shooter was wearing. Prosecutors requested that the defendant be held on no bond.
