INDIO, CA — A big rig overturned on the Jefferson Street offramp at westbound Interstate 10 in Indio, prompting a SigAlert that is expected to last well into Monday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol. The rig tipped Sunday evening but a SigAlert was issued at approximately 8:30 a.m. Monday to keep traffic out of the area so the semi could be towed. The California Highway Patrol said the ramp would be closed for approximately eight hours, but the agency extended the estimation to 6:30 p.m. According to the CHP, the solo-vehicle crash caused minor injuries. The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
