Description
We are seeking a hard-working, caring candidate to assist with all aspects of our organization in the role of Program Manager. This person will have significant experience in nonprofit or business management and enjoy working with teens. The person we hope to hire will also have excellent verbal and writing skills, be able to take initiative, follow directions, and implement our processes professionally. You will assist, manage, learn and lead. We are looking for a team player who will work hard to contribute to our overall mission and goals. We are a growing, community based organization. The Evanston Work Ethic (WE) Program is a nonprofit serving teens in the community, especially those seeking alternatives to college or who are planning for a tiered and financially manageable approach to their education and training. Many of our teen participants are interested in healthcare, the trades, or other careers. We help them prepare to succeed through interactive workshops, one-on-one meetings, mentorship and much more! The primary work of the Program Manager will be to assist the Executive Director with the following: - Event planning and logistics (for our summer internship program, graduation, career days, workplace/school tours, employer thank you lunches and alumni programs) - Communication with our employer partners and career-matched mentors through phone calls, email communications and in-person visits to their businesses -Recruitment of teen program participants via presentations and meetings at Evanston Township High School with students, parents, counselors and teachers - Alumni Program planning and logistics including email communication, in-person and zoom interviews, tracking alumni progress, and organizing programs for alumni - Communicating with teen program participants including answering emails, researching/following up on participants’ requests and sending participants materials - Reviewing participants’ work product including their presentations, research, scholarship applications, resumes, etc. - Fundraising database management including properly entering all stakeholders in our system and managing these contacts and donors - Management of program facilitators (coaches) who work with our teen participants through twice monthly one-on-one meetings - Marketing/PR - flyers, fundraising materials, PR, website oversight, ordering and delivery of gifts/swag to stakeholders, social media posts, newsletter drafting and coordination Selected individual will be: A strategic, flexible and creative thinker Comfortable & capable using Google Suite: spreadsheets, presentations and surveys Able to follow directions and implement our processes professionally Able to accept feedback regularly Able to manage communications in a detailed, professional manner Able to work independently, meet deadlines, manage multiple projects at once Motivated and passionate about the work Able to represent our organization well, and be an advocate in the communityReports to: The Executive Director Hours: Negotiable. 20-30 hours a week.
