LAGUNA BEACH, CA — In Laguna Beach, every day is for the arts — but on April 24, the night for the arts returns as the 14th Annual Art Star Awards commemorates the accomplishments of local artists. This year's Art Star Awards takes place at Seven-Degrees in Laguna Beach, and will celebrate the recipients and nominees that would have been recognized at the 2020 Art Stars event, a news release written by the Laguna Beach Arts Alliance said. The various category winners are given one-of-a-kind sculptures, called "Louies," created by local artist and celebrity Louis Longi. The "Louies" are created specifically for the Art Star Awards with no molds or editions, organizers said. Marrie Stone, a prominent local writer in Laguna Beach, is scheduled to speak at the event. She will discuss her experiences as a columnist covering Laguna Beach's art scene, as well as writing her own fiction and essays. Residents can join in on the celebration by purchasing tickets for the 14th Annual Art Stars Awards at $100 per person, or $1,000 for a table of ten. The awards event takes place at 5:30 p.m., April 24 at Seven-Degrees, 891 Laguna Canyon Rd.
