ELMHURST, IL – A Chicago man apparently thought of a way to get Elmhurst police to respond more quickly to a call, but it got him in trouble, according to a report. Shortly after midnight Saturday, Elmhurst officers were called to the 100 block of South York Street about a report of a person with a gun, police said. Upon arrival, the officers determined that a man, later identified as 28-year-old Jack Brennan, had made the false claim so that officers would respond to his location faster, police said. Brennan was charged with disorderly conduct and taken to the DuPage County Jail. Brennan lives at the apartment building at 801 S. Financial Place in downtown Chicago. It was unclear why Brennan was seeking a police response. Patch has filed a public records request with the police.
