Description
CARLSBAD, CA — A new 1-acre entryway to Carlsbad's Calavera Hills Community Park is now open.
Located at the corner of Glasgow and Carlsbad Village drives, the new area offers benches, an open lawn area, a looped pathway, outdoor fitness equipment and shaded picnic tables.
When Calavera Hills Community Park was constructed, Fire Station 3 was originally proposed to be located on the site, according to the city. The fire station was relocated in the Robertson Ranch community, and the vacant lot became available for other uses.
The area was designed based on community input gathered as part of the city's Parks & Recreation Master Plan.
