DEARBORN, MI — Officials believe an early Monday morning Dearborn house fire may have been set intentionally, Dearborn Police said.
Fire crews found the back of a home on the 7800 block of Oakman Blvd. fully engulfed in flames at 4 a.m. Monday morning, officials said. No one was inside the home and no injuries were reported by officials in the fire.
Although Dearborn fire officials have not determined the cause of the fire, officials considered there was suspicious activity during a preliminary investigation with Dearborn Police.
"Thankfully no one was injured as a result of this house fire and the Dearborn Fire Department was able to quickly extinguish the flames without further property loss," Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin. "I implore anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity this morning to provide this information to investigators."
