Description

Karl Dorrell, the Miami Dophins assistant head coach, will become the new University of Colorado head coach, according to multiple reports. Former CU Buffs' head coach Mel Tucker left the Buffaloes to become the head coach at Michigan State. CU has not confirmed Dorrell's hire; however several major sports outlets, including ESPN, say they have "sources" that have confirmed the news. Dorrell served as the head football coach of the University of California, Los Angeles from 2003 to 2007, compiling a record of 35 to 27. Within five seasons, he led the Bruins to five bowl appearances. (Stay up-to-date on Boulder news with Boulder Patch! The abrupt career change has drawn criticism from players and fans. Read the full ESPN report here.
