BOULDER, CO — As people around the nation look for jobs during the economic downturn, some places offer better job prospects than others, according to a new report.
Boulder is ranked the 8th best place for career opportunities during the coronavirus outbreak, the SmartAsset study shows.
In 200 of the largest metro areas, analysts looked at seven metrics — such as income and access to professional development through higher education or career counseling.
College Station-Bryan, Texas, was ranked No. 1. Huntsville, Alabama and Gainesville, Florida were ranked No. 2 and 3, respectively.

Boulder's high ranking was based on its May unemployment rate — 8.2 percent, its median income and its income growth over a career. The city was ranked 182 out of 200 for its high media annual housing costs, however.
