Job Description Earth in Hand is looking for a dedicated individual to join our all-natural landscape maintenance team as a Biological in-put Applicator. Individuals will learn more about the intimate relationship between plants and soil, while working on properties around Western Montana. Paid for certification trainings and enrichment course will be provided for the right individual that is committed to a career in this filed. Much of this work is done independently, so individuals must have a great work-ethic, positive attitude, problem solving skills, skills in customer relations and have a desire to learn our unique processes. As the company continues to grow, our dedicated staff will have opportunities to take on larger responsibilities season to season. Earth in Hand specializes in soil health through Biological Remediation and Mineral Balancing. Our goal is to manage properties and projects without the use of toxic chemicals, while also increasing soil biology and carbon storing capabilities. Protecting, building, and reclaiming soil has the potential to not only reduce our carbon footprint, but reverse it. To make this a reality, we must foster healthy relationships between plants and soil microorganisms. Years of research show us that soil health is directly linked to the overall health of our planet and its inhabitants. If you are someone that is passionate about the environment and can meet the following requirements this is the job you have been looking for. Requirements: • Must have or obtain within 2 months a Montana Department of Agriculture Applicators license. Study material and fees provided. Montana Driver’s License, with clean driving record • Pass Background check as required by City of Missoula • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs • Clear communication, with the ability to take direction, and work independently • Dependable team player that can be accountable for their actions • Basic math skills for mixing biological and mineral products to recommended rates, square footage calculations, and compute right angles • Attention to detail and basic administration skills to track job hours, truck miles, and products used • Basic Horticulture knowledge including proper methods of pruning plant species. Preferred Experience in Operating: o Truck with standard transmission o Truck and trailer combination up to 16’ trailer o Fertilizer/compost Spreader o Liquid spay rig, with up to 300’ of 3/8” hose o Commercial zero turn mowers - ride on and walk behind o Hand-held equipment - weed whip, back pack blower, chain saw etc. o Skid steer- loader and soil prep attachments o Mini excavator
