General Description: South Shore Music Circus - Summer Season Catering Opportunity
The Caterer reports directly to the Production Manager and is in charge of preparing, delivering and serving buffet style performer meals. Meals to be served in the hospitality area where our performers spend their time resting, having meals, and preparing for performances. There are typically 25 events per season and the number of meals vary (14-32 meals) by show based on the traveling crew and artist. The Caterer develops menus, coordinates meal delivery, manages event schedules and food preparation timelines, setting up equipment to serve food and preserve its temperature. Menus created with consideration to special requests and occasional dietary requirements (gluten free, vegetarian, etc.) and served buffet style based on COVID requirements as reflected in the contract and/or rider.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Prepare show day menus, working with Production Manager on menus and meal requirements for each performer according to the specifics in their Contract Rider
• Provide / prepare buffet style dinners for the artists
• Create mutually agreed master list of 8 entrée selections for production manager to present
• Meals include including salad, bread, main course, starch, vegetable and dessert
• Caterer may be responsible for onsite grilling
• Chef may leave after food is ready and in chafing dishes, one catering staff member must be onsite from 4:30 – 7pm on show days
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of dietary restrictions and ability to create menus accordingly
• Certified and licensed in safe food handling policies and procedures
• Excellent communications skills
• Friendly and energetic demeanor, with the ability to stay calm and move quickly during busy times.
• Organized, responsible, and dependable
Physical Demands/ Working Environment:
• Must be available for ALL show dates in the Season, Mid-June to early September, 2022
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
