Woman Found Dead Near South Boulder Peak

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — A 49-year-old woman was found dead Monday near South Boulder Peak, officials said. No foul play is suspected, according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. First responders received a report around 1:45 p.m. that the woman's family members were searching for her near South Mesa Trail, officials said. The woman's vehicle was found parked in the 200 block of Eldorado Springs Drive. Rescue crews began searching the area and used an unmanned aerial vehicle. The woman's body was found just before midnight in a remote spot near South Boulder Peak on Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks property, officials said. "We would like to recognize the OSMP ranger who went above and beyond by hiking and searching in very difficult terrain, in the dark, and was able to locate the victim," the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. "Because of her actions, the family can have closure and begin their grieving process."
