Seeking Grounds Crew Member April 2022 Contact: Grounds Superintendent at 608.833.5445 BACKGROUND: Tamarack Trails is a community consisting of 320 homes located on Madison's west side at Tree Lane and Westfield Road. The Landscape team assumes responsibility for maintaining the entire grounds. Seasonal staff is hired to assist with more routine grounds and landscape work. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a Part-time 30 hours per week Monday through Friday. All work will be done on Tamarack property which is located at the corner of Tree Lane and Westfield Road. The Grounds Specialist reports directly to and takes direction from the Grounds Superintendent. The Grounds Crew Member will be assigned general exterior grounds and landscaping tasks. In addition, they may be asked to assist maintenance staff with small maintenance-related projects. SPECIFIC DUTIES may include: • Grounds and landscape-related work • Trimming and pruning shrubs and small trees. • Installing and removing nursery stock. • Seeding and re-grading soil. • Removal of undesirable plants and underbrush. • Planting, watering and weeding flower beds. • Assisting with tasks pertaining to Tamarack's resident garden area. • Documenting work order forms and time logs. • Other outdoor tasks deemed necessary by the Grounds Superintendent. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: • High school or equivalent (Preferred) • Grounds maintenance and/or landscaping work: 1 year (Preferred) • Driver's License (Preferred) Skill in the use of hand tools during season and chain saws is essential. Ability to drive a bobcat is a plus. In addition, the individual assuming this position must be in good physical condition and able to lift 70 pounds from the ground to waist level. The position requires a valid driver's license and a dependable means of transportation to work. Job details Salary: $17 - $18 an hour
