Drummer looking to start Beastie/old skool rap tribute

Description
I've had this idea in my head for a while now. I want to do something a little different, outside the box, and above all else, fun (for both the audience AND the band). I'm a drummer, currently in 2 bands. The Beastie Boys and old skool rap/r&b (80's - early 2000's) have always been an influence in my playing, in some capacity, since I first put on a pair of headphones and played along with tracks via my cassette player. I love the other bands I'm in, and gig steadily, but I need an additional creative path (and a little extra $$$ doesn't hurt either!). This is a genre that I don't really think is out there currently in the WNY area (unless I've missed something). The idea is to gig with this tribute approximately once every 2 months or so when it's up and running, focusing on making our shows into more of an "event" when we play. I'm not really looking to play the corner bars or smaller venues. Maybe some smaller venues to start and get the word out but you get the idea. It's going to take some time to get this project off the ground. I'm not looking to get out to the venues next month, and I'm not looking to practice 5 days a week. I'm hoping to find musicians that do their homework, get together maybe once a month and bang out the tunes we chose to work on for that rehearsal. First set would consist of solely 80's - early 2000's rap (maybe some r&b if some one in the band has the chops singing-wise). Second set consists of all Beastie Boys, costumes and all! So much music to choose from and challenging enough to keep you seasoned pros engaged. Plenty of opportunities for creativity as well! As stated earlier, I'm a drummer. I'm hoping to fill out this project with positive, open minded musicians. Age really isn't important (well, at least 21 to get into venues, I guess), but being interested in the genre and being competent in your abilities is a must. If you've read this far, hopefully you're interested and can contribute to one of the spots listed below: Rapper/singer (3 needed) Keyboard Lead Guitar Bass Dj (maybe, just throwing out ideas) Thanks for reading!!
