ARVADA, CO — A new category of mini grants has been announced in Arvada as the weather grows colder. The city is working with Adams County and the Arvada Chamber to issue 'winterization' grants to restaurants, senior care facilities and childcare centers. While the grant program was started by Adams County, all Arvada businesses are eligible, officials said. The maximum grant amount for the new category is $5,000, which would help fund items such as portable forced air heaters, tents and third-party delivery service fees. Businesses that are installing new heaters or heat lamps are asked to contact the Arvada Fire Protection District Fire Marshal for approval, and businesses that are expanding their tents will need a temporary use permit. Information about both processes can be found here.
