Popular South Asian Street food stand at Smorgasburg and Queens Night Market is looking for weekend crew to work the month of April. Specifically looking for a front person to take orders and make plates and back-end person to help make roti’s and BBQ (will teach if you are happy to learn). Ideal candidates would have - A great attitude and genuine passion for food related matters - Some restaurants or kitchen experience in a fast-paced environment will help, long lines can be intimidating - A sense of humor (to deal with hipsters) and the gift of the gab (for bemused tourists) - Multitask - food handling, customer relations, refill supplies etc. - Some heavy lifting required during setup and breakdown - NYC food handlers license (not necessary but helps if you have one) What we offer - $20/hour and tips - Hours on Saturday from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM in Flushing, Queens - Hours on Sunday are 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM in Prospect Park, Brooklyn Please reply back with a paragraph on why you are interested in this gig and what role suits you.
