“No parent should have to bury their child”. Mother’s having to give their final good night kiss or a simple I LOVE YOU!
“Tea with a Purpose” is an event designed to honor those mothers who lost a child/children due to gun violence in the City of Portsmouth, Va. With the help of Darrell Redmond (Give Back 2 Da Block) Ashley Canty (Canty Girl’s Catering) Sarita Mullen (Touch of Love Event Planning). The panel will touch on different topics Mental health, life after death, sibling love, social support, and much more.
We as a whole be there (support) when a family member is lost (death). But once the casket closes so does the family. Mothers are left feeling empty and alone. So we are coming together to give them their flowers while “SheRO” can smell them.
Being from Portsmouth, we wanted to start this great event in their own city. To shine light on the mothers and other family members. The goal is to reach other cities in the Hampton Roads area to spread love and also bring awareness.
The honoree will be presented with a pair white lace gloves. The color white symbolizes a deep meaning of chastity and purity. In truth, these white gloves signify a man of dignity and nobility with a pure heart and righteous intentions. The spotless white gloves meaning implies the purification of human life. Before wearing the white gloves and joining the ritual events. Each mother will wash their hands in Rose water to help heal any open wounds (mind, body and spirit). Ending it with a dove release for each survivor.
This event will take place May 7, 2022, location (The Senior Station 3500 Clifford St Portsmouth,Va) 11am till 3pm. Grab bags will be given away from different business owners throughout the community. Personalize tea bags with the child/children name on them, and much more.
Thank you,
