Come see a diversity of cultures from Native American, Polynesian, Asian, Latin, and African come together all on one stage! ROC: Remembering Our Culture began as an organization with the aims of promoting multicultural education and giving a safe place for minority students to be themselves as well as make friends. The group represents all the minority ethnic groups which include Native American, Pacific Islander, Asian, Black/African, and Latino/a. Within the group, students learn cultural dances from their own cultures as well as the cultures of their peers and are able to perform them in various workshops, assemblies, and showcases throughout the year. This becomes a form of storytelling for the students which in turn helps them validate their cultural identities as well as boost their confidence and self-image. This showcase is an accumulation of what ROC has been working towards all year. We hope you enjoy this show with more than 20 distinct dances and cultures.
