MEET MORTY We adopted Morty at 8 months in 2017 from the Oregon Humane's Society. We wanted our cat Carl to have a buddy and it worked! However, they compete for food and now they both have weight issues (Morty weights about 20 lbs) which is causing other health problems (he also has allergies and gets ear infections in his right ear and has dandruff). We also just had a baby girl and our other cat is sick. With a heavy heart, we have had to make the difficult decision to re home Morty as we no longer have the time, energy, or resources to care for him. Morty is a very sweet but timid 5 year old cat. He loves to be touched, brushed (he needs to be brushed daily), and petted. He will sit in your lap if you are on the floor. He will curl up on the edge of your bed. He is a very chill cat. He does have the tendency to pee when you put him in his cat carrier, but that's the only somewhat aggressive thing he does. Oh, and he claws at furniture, so it's important to keep his nails trimmed. He has been kept up to date on all of his vaccines and medical care. He is also chipped. SUPPLIES We can provide ear medicine, food, automatic cat feeder, a cat carrier, toys, a collar, medical records, a cat tree, and a scratching post. He will need a water fountain type water bowl. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for a cat owner who has experience with cats, helping cats lose weight, and has the resources to take Morty to the vet for regular check-ups and for emergencies. We are looking for a home that has no other animals and is quiet (he does not like fireworks or other loud sounds). A place where he will be strictly in doors (he is afraid of being outside), but against declawing. A place where he will be safe, loved, properly nourished, and played with.
