Arvada Launching Pedestrian Safety Pilot Program

ARVADA, CO — The City of Arvada is launching a pedestrian pilot program, which aims to test strategies for improving safety. The program will test installations, using temporary materials, in two areas; however before the tests begin, the city has launched a survey to ask for public feedback on the program. The first pilot project will be tested on 57th Avenue, between Glen Ellen Drive and Balsam Street, in the vicinity of Arvada K8 School. The second pilot project identified is in Olde Town at Grandview Avenue and Webster Street. "Your feedback will help us make design changes and measure outcomes from strategies that aim to enhance street safety for all users, whether walking, bicycling or driving," the city said in a notice to residents. "Based on your perceptions and other research results from the project, the city will be able to determine if these improvements should be made permanent." (Stay up-to-date on Arvada news with Patch!
