The 2020 election is heating up in Colorado and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office. Eyes are primarily focused on the presidential election, but voters will also decide the outcome of state representative, senate and judicial seats. My successful experience as a state legislator. For example, I sponsored legislation to develop our mental health crisis system. I also was the lead on streamlining our state sales and use tax system, finding a way to help businesses and also municipalities. What steps should state government take to bolster economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic for local businesses? Economic recovery will occur as consumer confidence increases through techniques such as notices, masks and social distancing. How will you address the calls for racial justice and police reform? I believe we need to examine our policies and contracts for racial inequities. Our county has already implementing innovative services such as mental health co-responders and homeless navigators.
