JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — Colorado has seen a record-breaking number of early voters ahead of the Nov. 3 election, and Jefferson County is no exception to that trend — as of Wednesday, more than 171,000 ballots were returned by drop box and mail in the county. Anyone who hasn't received their ballot by Monday is asked to contact the elections office, which can issue you a replacement by mail until Oct. 26. You can also go to any in-person vote center in Jeffco; however officials are encouraging voters to use drop boxes whenever possible amid the coronavirus pandemic. Twenty-one new drop boxes have been added in the county, many of which don't require voters to get out of their vehicles. "Every box is on 24/7 video surveillance and collections are only made by bipartisan teams of background-checked election workers who put them into sealed transport bags before bringing them back to our processing center," Jeffco Clerk and Recorder George Stern said in an elections update. As of Wednesday, 171,397 ballots were returned in Jefferson County: Republicans: 39,459Democrats: 66,511Unaffiliated: 63,692Minor party: 1,735 Don't miss the latest election updates in Colorado. "We, like election officials across the country, have seen an increase in the circulation of misinformation surrounding the election online," Stern's update read. "We continue to monitor these reports and work with our local and state partners to counter any attempts to disrupt the election through disinformation. If you see anything you are unsure or concerned about, please reach out to the Jeffco Elections team."
