ARVADA, CO — A man has been arrested in connection with an Arvada homicide, police announced Wednesday.
Tyler Condit, 31, faces first-degree murder charges after the body of Joseph Elsey was found Sept. 6 in Silver Plume, according to the Arvada Police Department.
On Aug. 29, Elsey's friends notified police that the last time they saw him was Aug. 24. Officers were called just before midnight to an apartment in the 6400 block of Simms Street.
"Access was gained to the apartment and there was a large amount of evidence to indicate a violent act had occurred," Arvada police said in a news release.

Investigators found a green Toyota 4 Runner that was possibly used in the crime, police said.
Elsey's body was found Sept. 6 in the 700 block of Silver Valley Road in Silver Plume, police said. The Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office assisted with the investigation.
Condit is being held at the Jefferson County Jail while the investigation was underway.
