Description

Press release from the City of Arvada: September 25, 2020 Today the City of Arvada has declared a Stage 2 municipal fire ban, effective immediately. In declaring the fire ban, the City acknowledges that while the State of Colorado ban is scheduled to expire on Sept. 30, dry conditions persist in Arvada. The City seeks to support community awareness of the continued fire risk in the area and to encourage the public to take steps to reduce the risk and help support the health and safety of the community. Stage 2 fire bans help land management agencies reduce fire risk and prevent wildfires during periods of high to extreme fire danger. Prohibited activities during a Stage 2 ban include the use of open fires, bon fires, chainsaws and charcoal grills, among other activities outlined by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Arvada's fire ban is consistent with the recommendations of the Arvada Fire Protection District and Jefferson County's current Stage 2 fire ban.
